Skyhook Christmas Party 2023!
We recently celebrated our annual Christmas Party! Read on to find out what we got up to!
In similar fashion to last year, we began the festivities with our Secret Santa gift exchange. We had a wide selection of gifts this time around, mugs, sweets/chocolates, socks and a Nerf gun! (Thankfully, no Skyhook member was harmed during the use of one of these gifts).
We also had a presentation from the Skyhook directors, they gave us an update on the progress of the company since their last update at our Summer Social, factoring in topics such as the progress of our releases, future plans for the studio and other developments (which we can’t share yet…). We also had the chance to celebrate a few work anniversaries for certain members of staff!
As the first stage of our evening drew to a close, it was time to head down to Leveltap!
As we arrived at Leveltap, our team wasted no time jumping into the console booths and making their way through the library of games! Over the course of the next few hours we broke off into groups for sessions of FIFA Co-op, Mario Kart races, Call of Duty: Zombies and Golf with Your Friends just to name a few. The time absolutely flew by, incredible how easy it is to get lost in the virtual world! It became quite difficult to separate some of the team from the console, however the smell of the food quickly sorted that out!
More games? Obviously!
After a much needed pit-stop for food and rehydration, some chose to slow down, have a chat with some some other members of the team, some opted for a few games of Cards Against Humanity (no, we’re not going into that), those who didn’t fall into those brackets rushed back to the consoles! A few more pack-a-punch’s later, we had a rather contentious F1 2023 race. The player who crossed the line first (narrowly) was not happy with the 2 second penalty for cutting multiple corners, however the appeal to the stewards (spectators) was unsuccessful.
As we got later into the night, it was time to make a decision, late night or early morning? Some opted for the ‘sensible’ option and some did not… however, that’s as far as we’ll be going today! Another wonderful Skyhook Christmas Party draws to a clos, we’d like to thank all the staff at Leveltap for their excellent hospitality, you guys certainly haven’t seen the last of us!
We’ve had a fair few new additions to the team this year and it’s wonderful to see everyone fit in so seamlessly! A big thank you to all who made the trip into Liverpool to be with us, some travelling from distant parts of the country. Here’s to a hugely exciting 2024!
