Lucy’s work experience at skyhook games!
Last week, Formby High School student, Lucy completed a one-week work experience placement at Skyhook Games HQ!
Lucy has a particular interest in marketing, so the majority of her time was spent with the marketing team. On the final day of the placement, we asked her to sum up her time with us…
How have you found your time at Skyhook?
I have really enjoyed my time at Skyhook Games! I have had the opportunity to job shadow and understand different job roles in the video games industry, which I didn’t know even existed before I started. Furthermore, everyone has been so welcoming, and the work environment has allowed me to feel very relaxed.
How has your time here helped you?
My time at Skyhook has helped me understand the working lifestyle as I have been involved in meetings, deadlines and brainstorming sessions. Additionally, I have been able to gain insight into the significance of teamwork in a business and efficient communication.
Was there any aspect you particularly enjoyed?
I particularly enjoyed shadowing different sectors in the games industry such as; Quality Assurance (QA), 3D Art and Marketing. I was able to gather an in-depth understanding of what each job role entails and how they all depend on each other to create the final product.
How would you summarise your placement?
In summary, my time here has been very insightful! I would encourage anyone who is interested in the games industry to apply for work experience here! Their transparent nature has allowed me to gather an in-depth understanding of what it takes to work in the games industry.
