the holiday express
we provided support to dovetail games for set design, placement and modelling on the holiday express dlc for tsw 3!
what had to be done?
We worked in collaboration with Dovetail Games to bring an updated version of The Holiday Express into Train Sim World 3!
We agreed with Dovetail a series of props which could be placed into the environment. After we had come to an agreement on which would be worked into the new launch, our art team set to work on taking these assets to fully realised designs! Once this stage had reached completion, it was our job to take the asset library and work out the best place for them in game!
how did we complete the job?
- A mood board of iconic 80s products was created as a source of inspiration
- Worked with Dovetail to avoid licensing issues with potential designs
- We prototyped a track design
- A whitebox of the level was created and gameplay elements added
- The whitebox was then worked up to final release quality
- Added in driveable vehicle as an Easter egg
- QA testing began

It was a pleasure to once again work with Dovetail to create new, exciting content for Train Sim World. We had a blast planning out this release, it allowed our talented teams to exercise their creative brains in new ways! Providing photo realistic trains and environments is a passion of ours, but every once in a while we enjoy letting our imaginations run wild!
