skyhook fundraising events
Members of Skyhook have taken part in a number of events over the last few months to raise money for our chosen charity of the year, North West Cancer Research. Let’s take a look at what they have been getting up to!
the abseil
In July, our HR Manager Susan Burns took on her first ever abseil. This took place at Liverpool Cathedral and involved a 150 foot free-fall descent. Here is what she had to say about it. “What an experience! I can’t pretend I wasn’t terrified while doing the abseil, but it was totally worth it when my feet touched the ground again. The atmosphere and support on the day was incredible and to raise money for such a great charity was the icing on the cake”.

tough mudder
On the morning of September 10th, two members of the Skyhook team made their way down to Cheshire for what turned out to be an incredibly messy couple of hours! One of our 3D artists Matt Dodd and Marketing Apprentice, Jack Downey, began the morning squeaky clean and in their brand new white NWCR shirts. They returned covered in mud (surprise, surprise!) but also with very wet clothing as they had taken a plunge in some icy water as one of the final obstacles! As you can see from the picture, those lovely shirts were beyond saving! They both described it as, “an exhausting and challenging experience, but a lot of fun too. Crossing that finish line was very rewarding, even if we were still in pain days after.”
the great north run
On September 11th, our Finance Director Graham had made his way up to the North-East ready to take part in The Great North Run. He had been training for this event for a while now, even going on long distance runs while off on holiday and the dedication certainly paid off! Covering 13 miles is no easy task, but Graham did us all very proud. It was a real challenge but he said “it was a great atmosphere and the crowd really boosted me”.

A massive well done to those who have taken on events so far! We’re committed to supporting this charity and it is our pleasure to contribute to such an worthy cause. We’re not finished yet though, stay tuned to our LinkedIn page to see our future fundraising efforts!
