35 hours a week (Flexi-time at 7 hours each day. Core hours are 10am-4pm.)

Job Description/ Purpose

As a growing indie game development and art outsourcing studio, Skyhook work on a variety of fantastic games. We are seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to manage the development and execution of our marketing strategies. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, including social media management, website administration, event planning and other marketing-related activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in marketing, prior people management experience, a good understanding of the gaming industry and excellent communication skills.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

Key duties which include:

  • Developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to promote our games and art outsourcing services
  • Providing effective leadership and clear direction to the Digital Marketing Assistant
  • Managing and overseeing all social media platforms, creating engaging content, and fostering a strong online community
  • Maintaining and updating the company website, ensuring it reflects the latest projects, news and achievements
  • Utilising video editing skills to create captivating promotions videos, gameplay trailers and other video content to showcase our games and services
  • Planning and coordinating marketing events, including game launches, exhibitions, conferences and promotional activities
  • Conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential competitors in the gaming industry
  • Collaborating with internal teams, including game developers and artists, to create compelling marketing materials and campaigns
  • Analysing marketing data (web traffic, engagement metrics, social media insights) to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and make data-driven decisions
  • Staying up-to-date with industry developments and emerging trends to propose new ideas and initiatives
  • Managing relationships with external partners, influencers and media outlets to enhance the company’s visibility
  • Monitoring current campaigns and ensuring staff meets deadlines and complete necessary tasks
  • Preparing regular reports and presentations on marketing performance for key stakeholders
  • Acting as lead and role model across the team and marketing department
  • Motivating, mentoring and coaching of Digital Marketing Assistant
  • Carrying out performance reviews for the department, setting targets and KPI’s as necessary

Any additional duties/ expectations as an employee of the company above and beyond specific job role  

Essential

  • Proven experience within a Marketing Manager role, or equivalent, in the gaming industry or related field
  • Prior experience of digital marketing, social media platforms, SEO and content marketing
  • Proven ability to work and build relationships cross-functionally with other departments
  • Strong video editing skills and proficiency in video editing software
  • A strong eye for detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A strong understanding and passion for games and their development

Experience in managing ongoing website development projects
