As a growing game development and art outsourcing studio, Skyhook work on a variety of fantastic games. We are seeking an experienced Lead Programmer on an exciting open-world Sim project. You will work closely with a team of programmers, taking overall responsibility for providing technical guidance and mentorship to ensure work meeting the technical requirements of the project. As Lead Programmer you will work with producers, leadership and other internal departments to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Key duties which include:
- Providing technical oversight on a new Sim based project from pre-production to release stage
- Overall supervision of project delivery and communicating progress to key stakeholders
- Leading and mentoring team members, ensuring common focus and direction is maintained
- Identifying issues and resolving problems as it arises
- Engaging with key QA stakeholders as required
- Providing documentation and guidelines as needed
- Ensuring best practice and quality of work is maintained across the development team

Essential:
Essential:
- Proven experience within a Lead Programmer role, or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Unreal Engine, preferably UE5
- Full cycle as lead programmer on at least one commercially released game
- Experience in leading and providing feedback to team in a similar role
- A strong eye for detail and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A strong understanding and passion for games and their development
